Description: True Revolucionarios, the 1 to 50 pesos notes were known commonly as the "Dos Caritas" series. These notes were issued by military decree (Pancho Villa) in 1914 since the Carranza government refused to ship sufficient federal funds north to support war efforts in Chihuahua and were to replace Villa's highly counterfeitable "Tesoreria General Del Estado" currently circulating. It has been said that prior to Villa's downfall in 1915 this series was trading at par with the US currency along Mexico's northern border. IMAGE 2 ABOVE ANNOTATED AS SEEN SHOWS ONLY TWO OF OBVIOUS TELLS ON THESE COUNTERFEITS. THERE ARE MORE. CHECK THESE AGAINST YOUR OTHER CHIHUAHUA NOTES!
