There is no other example of this type of bar available for comparison, and therefore we assume this bar to be very rare or even scarce. The details of the bar are clearly imitative of the PAMP Suisse style, and we assume this bar originated in Syria. There seem to be tiny hallmarks on the top of the pendant where the gold loop is threaded. These seem to be Greek letters, but they are so tiny it is difficult for us to decipher them (even using a 10 loupe). Our best guess is that this bar has something to do with the Greek Syrian community, and the age of the bar could be anywhere from the 1970s until circa 2000. There is still a community of Greeks in Syria, although many have immigrated to other countries due to various reasons. We would greatly appreciate any additional information about this bar. We believe this gold bar has something to do with the Greek Syrian community in Syria and that is our best guess at this point in time. Very rarely do we come across a piece of gold that we cannot fully understand, but this is one of those times.
