1-PR NOS Hitachi 2SJ56 2SK176 TO-3 Mosfet. 1990s Purchase From HAFLER/Rockford!

Description: Purchased directly from HAFLER / Rockford Tempe, AZ in 1990s. AUTHENTIC USA stock. These replace all types of early POWER MOSFETS used in HAFLER, Tandberg, Perreaux, MOSCODE, Soundcraftsmen, and others. At one point, Hafler was consuming more of these devices than all its competitors combined! These ORIGINAL HITACHI 2SJ56 and 2SK176 higher-voltage devices were used in Hafler's BIG amps (i.e. DH500, P505, XL600 and P5000) but are UPGRADES the lower voltage 2SJ49 / 2SJ50 and 2SK134 / 2SK135 (i.e., DH120, DH200 and DH220). They were purchased directly from Hafler/Rockford in the early 90s. Use 2SJ56 to replace 2SJ49, 2SJ50, 2SJ55, QP112, QP113, SSH-608Use 2SK176 to replace 2SK134, 2SK135, 2SK175, QN112, QN113, SSH-607 Long ago my company tried to build some Hafler amps from parts we had on hand -- using replacement devices imported from Britain. The results were problematic. (We had to add a bunch of capacitors to the driver boards to stabilize the circuit and keep the amps from oscillating.) As another vendor states: "These are original HITACHI devices (lateral MOSFETS) with the SOURCE on the case, and have unique transfer characteristics (cross over point to lower transconductance - less gain - at very low currents). You CANNOT substitute 'modern' MOSFETS for these devices, or thermal runaway will occur." MY ADDITIONAL NOTE: It's not that the British Exicon parts my company tried using were "defective." They just had slightly different electrical characteristics from the Hitachi devices engineers Erno Borbely and Harry Klaus had designed their Hafler circuits around.
