These snails come from our personal aquarium breeding stock; the vast majority will be between 4-6 months old with the oldest being less than one year old. They have been raised on premium snail food from Hagerman Idaho (aquaticblendedfoods.com) and are very healthy! In terms of snail color: we guarantee at least one purple/magenta with the possibility of at least one other unique color (gray, yellow, etc.). These snails are excellent tank mates and algae cleaners. They are safe for all plants and pair very well with fish and other aquatic creatures. We ship MONDAYS and TUESDAYS only by USPS Priority Mail to ensure the snails aren't grounded at the post office over the weekend. Shipping costs are calculated based on costs from Northeast Ohio to your location. June/July is one of the best times to ship mystery snails across the country, but if our judgement is that temperatures are too extreme for shipping, we will contact you for alternate arrangements. We only ship to the contiguous 48 states. When purchasing live snails, you are agreeing to track the package through eBay and acclimate your snails promptly (see below). It can take up to several hours for snails to come out of their shell and start moving around. They've had quite the journey, so give it some time. Snails are dead when they detach from and hang out of their shells. If they've been dead for some time, there will also be a smell. To account for any dead snails upon arrival, we include 2 extra snails! To acclimate your new mystery snails, ASAP after package receipt use the cup they were shipped in (minus the paper towel) and add in little tank water every 5-10 minutes for 30 minutes prior to introducing the snails to your tank. We guarantee that your snails will arrive healthy and in the best state possible! Please keep in mind that this will only guarantee that 10 snails will be alive upon arrival. We cannot guarantee that you will be successful at keeping them due to the fact that your aquarium might not have the correct parameters to keep mystery snails.
