Description: The 1.5 wave dipole is a unique beast that is seldom used or mentioned. This antenna is more directional off the sides than a dipole, and remains semi directional in an inverted V installation. 3-5db more gain than a dipole, but will require some planning as to it's installation. This antenna is more sensitive to it's environment, height above ground and to ground conductivity, so may require a tuner even in it's resonant length This should be installed no less them 1/2 wavelength above ground at it's lowest point (18-19ft). Use this if you want more gain as well as directing your signal in 2 directions more than all...in the inverted V installation, this will still be vertically polarized, but will show 2-3db of nulls off the ends of the antenna. This antenna should not be installed as an L, sloper, or vertical as it will create an strange and hard to predict radiation pattern Note the space required is more than a standard 1/2 wave dipole.
