100 Mid Century Modern 1950s Architectural & Furniture Professional Photos COA

Description: Over 50 original numbered packets from a professional photographers estate. 1951 to 1954. Photos and negatives are in the original packets. These photos contain architecture, landscapes, furniture and interiors from the early 1950s. All of the photos are in very good condition. They will measure between 3.5 x 5“ or 2.75 x 4 1/2“ it depends on the package Most of the negatives are in very good condition and can be used again on Kodak safety film. There are well over 100 images here & you’re getting everything you see. I tried to show you a good sampling of what’s inside although not everything is pictured. Ebay does not give me enough room to show you everything but I tried. There will be some nice surprises in here too I’m sure. After cleaning out the residence & studio in 2014, we have been sorting through over 100,000 photographs for the last 10 years, and are finally offering some of the best ones up for sale individually. We hope to Bring recognition to his life's work as well as to find homes for some parts of the history of an entire city as documented by the city photographer. Parts of the collection are being held together by the estate for exhibition purposes in the future. Holding a piece from this collection will be rare. Much of the contents from the estate were taken by the historical society before we were asked to go inside. The photographs we hold from this estate, include everything you would've expected a city photographer to have been present for; from weddings, to new construction, aerial photographs, sporting events, school events, press photography, police, Jaycees, and a really nice, but VERY LIMITED collection of nude photographs, some possibly from a nudist camp that is still in operation here today. Even more limited, there were a handful of his war era photographs that we were able to save. The photos that are being offered here, were well preserved, found inside the home and studio, in a cool, dry, cellar type setting. George did a lot of work for the newspapers so you'll see things pertaining to Clearwater Florida, much of it from the early 1950s. Being in the same location next to the Clearwater courthouse for over half a century, he was also entrusted with and gifted many photographs that go back to the late 1800s that were left behind and are currently in our collection.
