This handprinted paper looks hand-painted and features exquisite roses in a graceful pattern that is elegant and subtle. A classic design from the 125 year historic archives of Thomas Strahan, this pattern is a pretty (but not cloyingly sweet) paper that can serve as the inspiration for a room or an entire home. Change the look by mixing it with other colors. We love this with white wicker as well as painted, oak, walnut, mahogany, and upholstered furnishings. For a country look, add a toile with coordinating small patterns and solids with a classic check and vintage linens -- a great look to showcase a basket or collection of transferware. For a traditional look, think damask stripes and velvet or go casual with linens and chintz. Although it varies by number of doors and windows and pattern match, it takes, on AVERAGE, 10 rolls to paper the walls in an 8 x 10 room with 8 ft. high ceilings. The same room with 10 ft. high ceilings would need 12 rolls. To paper the walls of an average 10 x 14 room with 8 ft. ceilings you will need, in general, a minimum of 14 rolls. If you have 10 ft. ceilings and a 16 x 20 room, you will likely need a minimum of 26 rolls. You should use an on-line wallpaper calculator to determine your exact needs. There are several available. I always like to add a roll or two so I have extra just in case I cut a piece incorrectly or for things like lining drawers or shelves, or even papering a closet to match the room.
