1/144 USAF C-130J-30 Super Hercules Minicraft #14700 Shrink Wrapped MISB

Description: I have to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! Minicraft Model Kits has a very large line of very small aircraft in 1/144 scale. This helps the budget as well as shelf space and allows you to collect a larger number of subjects. Unfortunately, Minicraft shut down operations in November 2022, so their kits will be harder to find from now on. With their longtime association with Academy, it is possible that Academy may end up with the molds and the models will live on. The Lockheed-Martin C-130 has flown since 1954 as a cargo plane, gunship, refueling tanker, maritime patrol craft, electronic warfare and command aircraft and other roles. Obviously, the airframe has received upgrades and improvements continuously throughout its lifespan. The C-130J-30 Super Hercules is one of the newest variants with improved engines and longer fuselage. I found about a half-dozen listings for this kit on eBay (in various conditions), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have found online about this particular model: Naturally, the Minicraft website (minicraftmodels.com) has been shut down. From other sources, I have found the following information about the subject and the kit: The C-130 has served the United States Air Force for over 50 years and it has undergone many changes to its engines and avionics. The super Hercules is the latest version featuring an extended fuselage and updated engines with 6- blade propellers. The new Minicraft C-130J-30 features new fuselage tooling representing the latest variant of the C-130. The kit also features new “J” engines, recessed panel lines, interior cargo bay and position-able rear door and up-dated engines with unique scimitar propeller design and 2 USAF markings. Scalemates.com shows that this is 2015 release based on the 2006 tooling that has been released over a dozen times across the S&M Models and Academy brands. They provide a link to download the complete 12-page instruction set and full-color painting guide. They also show the wonderful box art and provide links to the review referenced below and many C-130 references and galleries to pump you up for your build. Uwe Damaschek did an excellent In-Box Review on German-language ipmsdeutschland.de site showing nine photos of the sprues and impressive decals. The overall detail, especially the engines, is good and the loading ramp can be built open to display the cargo area all the way up to the cockpit wall. He also points out that: “the accuracy of fit among each other is good during a first fit test. I particularly like the connection of the wings to the fuselage, which is characterized by an exact fit and a tight fit.” This kit is in a colorful, sturdy box about 13.5” x 7.5” x 2”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in fantastic shape and is still sealed with the original shrink wrap, so it is factory sealed and definitely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with detailed grey and clear plastic parts and a large sheet of Cartograf decals for two different USAF aircraft.
