1/700 IJN Light Cruiser Tatsuta Hasegawa Water Line #43310 OOP Shrink Wrap MISB

Description: I would like to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. The Tatsuta was the second ship in the two-ship Tenryu class of Light Cruisers that were meant to be flagships for destroyer flotillas. Completed shortly after WWI, she had a long service life that was ended by the USS Sand Lance in March 1944 off the coast of Japan. This kit can show the pre-war (December 1941) configuration or the July 1942 configuration after more AA guns were added. I found quite a few versions of these kits listed on eBay (mostly from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have found online about this particular model: The Hasegawa website (hasegawa-model.co.jp) announces that this product has been Discontinued (replacing it with a new tooling in 2015). It also shows the excellent box art and a photo of a finished model but has no useful information about the kit. Scalemates.com shows that this is a 1992 release (the box says 1994) based on the classic 1973 tooling that has been the basis of nine releases. The box says 43310, but the barcode sticker says 49310. It appears that this is the 43310 release and at some point before I bought it in 2014, an updated barcode sticker was added with the 49310 UPC. They provide a few links to aftermarket parts and a photo gallery for an impressive IJN Tenryu project. Frederick Boucher published a thorough In-Box Review on the modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net website that used to have over 20 photos (no longer accessible). He provides a detailed history of the ship and goes into the kit contents. He was impressed with the detail molded into the parts and the newer parts added since the 70’s. His Conclusion starts with: “This long thin ship model is an impressive offering from Hasegawa. The weapons and masts and other small parts enhance the overall quality of the model. The decals look very good. The instructions are nice but cluttered.” This kit is in a compact box about 11.5” x 4.5” x 1.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the kit is in mint condition and still in the original shrink wrap, so it is factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains highly detailed parts and decals to make a waterline hull model of this IJN Light Cruiser. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally.
