Description: Franois Pomey 1740 Le Grand Dictionnaire Royal: I, II, III. Both books are in finally told pigskin bindings with class. This fine set of dictionaries in three parts. It covers word in Latin, French and Alleman which is a group of high German dialect. Book one is in one part. It has a beautiful full page wood cut opposite of the title page, red and black ink to the titles, one working clasp with the second missing the hook. Book number two is in volume two and three. It has both working clasps, title pages in Black Ink only. Both books have strong spines without any cracks or separation. Book one has some minor discoloring and staining on the binding, and book two is less stained and discolored. Both have bumped corners and medium soiling and boxing throughout. The author Francois Pomey was known for being very diligent and thorough in making sure that he had all the three languages of each word perfectly correct.
