Includes letters by Cicero, Pliny, Balzak, Locke, Dryden, Addison, Steele, Pope, Swift, and more. This is the second edition, published in 1757 in London. There are 204 pages, and the book measures 4 by 6 5/8 inches. I could not find another copy of this second edition for sale. The first edition came out in 1756. I found one copy of that one going for $1,750, but you may as well save some $$ here. Great restoration candidate. The current cover looks like period crude handmade oilcloth. There are rips, discoloration and missing pieces of pages. The spine is separating from the pages. Please see photos of these issues.
