Description: Glossy chocolate and light olive brown mixed with darker olive brown on the obverse. There is a dull dent at the base of the M in VERMON plus a half dozen small contact marks elsewhere on the obverse. The reverse, however, is smooth and nearly choice. The massive die crack down the face to the rim at the R in AUCTORI is strong. Struck slightly off center. The date is clear, although the bottom of the second 8 is affected by a shallow planchet flake. Certainly not perfect but still quite nice for this very tough variety. Listed on page 72 in the "Redbook." Weight 102.1 grains. Year - 1788Variety - RR-29Rarity - 5
