Description: BARITE AGATE BEADS from Yellow Cat River, UtahComes with an information card about this mineral. The strand is about 16 inches longThere is a place at Yellow Cat River, Utah where the silicified barite nodules often contain red agates within it. The nodules are blackish, grape-like and feel rough. They're quite heavily fractured as a result of being weathered out of their rock hosts and large nodules can be mistaken as coprolites. The pieces showed crystalline structures that resembles those of barite and barite was known to grow in barium-rich muds just like the Barite Roses found at Norm, Oklahoma. Eventually, the barite was replaced by quartz and any cavities within the nodules are filled with red to purple agates.I will combine the cost of shipping for all the items you win during a 2 week period that are paid for in a single transaction.
