Illustrations: 32 aquatint and monochrome plates (17+15), as called for, including 1 folding map of the New Forest. Description: A superb, beautifully illustrated, two-volume set of the third edition. Recently professionally rebound in green crushed morocco and marbled paper-covered boards, spines with five raised bands, gilt lettering and detailing to compartments. Top edges gilt (bright), fore and lower edges marbled. Recent replacement endpapers. Text-blocks remain sound and firm. Pages generally very clean, just a little foxing in places, though with offsetting from plates to adjacent pages. All plates present as called for, mostly clean, a small number with one or two minor blemishes. Overall, a very handsome, well-restored set, that would grace the shelves of any collection.
