Description: "France, including the Netherlands, Savoy, &c. divided into Departments by J. Sharman. 1810." A very scarce map of part of Europe, by a cartographer who barely gets a mention. There are one or two maps listed online by him, including a World Map by John Sharman, but he does not get an entry in either of my very comprehensivedictionaries of map-makers and engravers. This is fine, large, map showing the Departments of France, and the Low Countries showing boundaries that bear no relation to those of today. Size: the sheet measures approx. 55cms x 40cms.Condition: The map is in a very good condition. The generous margins have one or two marks, and the right-hand edge is a little creased.
