Description: Thinning out my 30+ year collection of great Baltimore Maryland and Carroll County soda, beer and whiskey bottles. Any references to a # are from the 2019 edition of Baltimore’s Pre-Prohibition Breweries & Bottles (also available on ebay).https://www.ebay.com/itm/204786885849Please look at the pictures carefully. I can provide additional pictures upon request. Offered for sale are 2 #1815 both hand blown beer bottles from the Wiessner & Bro's Fort Marshal Brewery. 1 aqua and 1 in what is considered clear. John Wiessner started this brewery in 1864 but stopped using the Fort Marshall reference in 1888 when his brother Christopher William Wiessner officially joined the company. The aqua example is in very nice condition. The embossing is strong and without case wear. The bottle has not been tumbled and retains a tiny bit of flea bites and internal staining. The "clear" example is technically very very light aqua but is what is considered the clear version which is easily noted when compared to the aqua version. This example is rough. It retains dirt and stains from it's dump excavation. The loopseal has some external chips. It would look much better tumbled. Neither example has any glass house maker marks. Embossed in a small oval slugplate as:J.F. WIESSNER & BROBREWING CO.REGISTEREDBALTIMORE MD.
