Description: For sale is an 1823 American edition publication of Alexander Tytler's Elements of General History, Ancient and Modern. The title page has a comical amount of additional elements that have been added including a continuation of the initial history up to 1820, details of the history of the US, and a question section for use in schools. Published Concord, New Hampshire by future US senator and New Hampshire Governor Isaac Hill in 1823. Fair antique condition as shown (photos are of the exact book available for sale). Rubbing and scratches to full leather covers, dry along spine with cracking at hinges - there is an old repair in tape supporting them. Chipping to edges and spine, wear to corners. Title label is faded but still legible with a bit of effort. Faded Ex-Libris stamp on inside cover. Pages show age with some stains and discoloration.
