Description: I have here for sale a book entitled JONES' VIEWS OF THE SEATS, MANSIONS, CASTLES, etc., of Noblemen and Gentlemen in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and other Picturesque Scenery Accompanied with Historical Descriptions of the Mansions, Lists of Pictures, Statues, etc., and Genealogical Sketches of the Families and their Possesors Forming part of the general Series of JONES' GREAT BRITAIN ILLUSTRATED published by Jones & Co., London, in 1829. First edition. This beautifully illustrated book includes a vignette on the title page and 78 tissue-guarded b/w plates showing 2 illustrations per plate.Dark green calf leather with a decorative gilt border. Marks on the boards. Four raised bands with gilt lettering and gilt decoration on the spine. Some wear to the leather along the edges of the boards and along the hinges. Marbled endpapers and page edges. Feint inscription on the prelim. Light foxing and stains to corners of pages and plates. All pages are tight and the book is in very good condition.
