Description: Presented is a classically designed pair of American coin silver tongs made by William Brown of Baltimore around 1820-1850. Each arm is in the traditional Fiddle pattern and the feet are in the form of shells. There is an old, original monogram of the initials AHF on the top of the tongs. The inside of one arm is marked Wm Brown and part of the 10.15 Baltimore purity is visible. The tongs are tested and guaranteed to be coin .900 silver purity. This pair is in excellent overall condition. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs. The tongs measures 6 1/2 inches long and weighs 33 grams.
