Description: c. 1840 Copper and Brass English Kettle by William Soutter & Sons of Birmimgham, England The base of the body has the distinctive "dovetail" construction seams of the period. This craftsmanship, combined with the natural patina that develops over time, gives this kettle a unique and appealing appearance. It has a very unusual shaped brass handle design, mirroring the impressive "beehive" finial on the lift off lid and a traditionalshaped spout. In original condition, unaltered, with some flaws, knocks, dimples and dents, commensurate to the age and use. All in all, it is a fine example of hand craftsmanship by skilled artisans and has stood the test of time.
