Description: Presented is a lovely pair of Russian silver niello spoons from 1847. These spoons feature beautiful hand engraved, enamel decorated leaves and scrolls on the back of the bowls. The handles have a nice spiral threading and onion dome form finials. The side of the handles are marked with the 84 zolotnik mark for .875 purity silver, the city mark for Moscow, and the assay mark with the year 1847. There is also another mark on the far right that we were unable to identify. The spoons come in a cloth box that has been stamped and embossed. This is likely not the original box, but displays a sticker on the underside from a jeweler. If you do not want this box, please let us know. This pair in great overall condition. There are some losses to the gilding, especially on the handle. Let the photos be your guide. The decorations on the back of the spoons are in great shape.
