Description: Mint condition daguerreotype from Britain in a typically British case and mat. This example is a ninth plate (2” x 2½”) in a plain half case. At certain angles his tie is tinted LIGHT blue and his hands LIGHT pink. The sky has been lightly tinted to give a mottled cloudy appearance. Curiously, his face is untinted. This is guaranteed to be a daguerreotype, although it doesn’t look like one from my scan, probably because of the sky tinting. I can combine postage for multiple purchases.
