Light brown cloth boards are scuffed at edges & worn/bumped at corners. Gilt lettering and deco dulled, but still legible. Head and tail of spine collapsed. All edges gilt. Gift inscription found on front end-page. Frontispiece's tissue guard is detached from binding. Toning and instances of age-staining throughout text-block. No known marginalia. Foxing & off-setting exhibited to plates & their tissue guards. Binding intact, but fragile at front hinge. Pleases see photos. Meant for children, it is a vessel of instruction and amusement. The stories are usually high-minded and convey a moral lesson, but there are no highs or lows and they are a perfect fit within he series. Features the poems of James Nack.
