Robert Jamieson, a minister of the Church of Scotland.Bound in a lavish contemporary leather binding, with metal edges and two functioning metal clasps.Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc.With thirty-eight illustrative engravings on steel throughout.A remarkable leather-bound Holy Bible complete with working clasps from the mid-nineteenth century. CONDITION In a contemporary full crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with some wear to the joints and rubbing to the raised bands. Extremities are protected by polished metal. Clasps are fully functioning and secure. Internally, binding is generally firm; front hinge is starting after the marriages leaf. Pages are occasionally a little spotted.
