Description: This is a scarce early hand thrown redware ovoid pitcher with wonderful manganese dripped decoration!.....I believe it may be a Virginia or New England piece but I'm not for sure. It was hand thrown on a potters wheel as it has finger grooves around the inside....small ovoid pitcher with applied handle & slight pinched pour spout.....round ovoid shape with flared rim....4 5/8"tall.....red earthenware with clear lead glaze...dark manganese drips running "up" from the bottom, which is unglazed....Excellent shiny nice condition with just a couple small minor flakes on rim; no other damage. A nice clean pitcher with no stain. This scarce awesome early redware pitcher came from the H.Marshall Goodman Estate collection of Richmond, Virginia.....
