Description: 1862 print of Nevada region This is an original wood engraving which was published over 160 years ago! It is a cropped single sheet only, from The Illustrated London issue of August 3, 1862. The print measures 7x10.5 inches in size, having originally been published as the bottom half of a larger sheet. It presents an attractive Nevada view, with two figures in the foreground looking out over a vast landscape, with a town in the distance. The scene is titled: SKETCHES from the WASHOE SILVER REGION, NORTH AMERICA: VIRGINIA CITY from the SOUTH, MOUNT DAVIDSON, CEDAR HILL, and SIX MILES GUTCH. The paper in which this view appeared had an article related to the scene, but that is not included. (I got this print about 25 years ago, and it came then in this cropped form, without any text.) _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
