To strengthen the moral influence of her work, however, the counteracting principle of honest Industry is made to play an important part in narratives in which virtue and vice are so ingeniously personified as in 'Lazy Lawrence' and 'Simple Susan.' HB, 4.75 x 7.25", line drawings, 112 pages. Please note that this is a very battered edition, and is sold as a reading copy only. No d/j, decorated covers very grubby, binding hinge visible inside front cover and occasionally internally, 'grubbinesses'/ foxing to pages, etc etc. Prize plate inside. It does seem to be on the rare side, though!
