Description: This is a Harper's Weekly with a beautiful iconic Thomas Nast Santa Claus cover from 1874. Nast is the artist who created the first image of the American Santa Claus. This is a complete issue with other nice drawings, including another work of Nast that is patriotic. It measures 16.5 x 12 inches and has 16 pages. As you can see there is some discoloration on the top edges, and some minor wear to the right edges of the interior pages, but the cover's edges are all pretty sharp. The last page has the subscription label to the person who owned it in Youngstown, Ohio. Nearly 150 years old original Santa Claus front page image on one of the most popular publications in the late 1800s.
