Description: A colorful, superbly printed, & visually pleasing N-342 Between The Acts & Bravo Cigarettes Manufacturer Thomas H. Hall tobacco card. This original card was issued circa 1880-1892. The card shows Castle and Abbott as "Paul and Virginia". The card measures 3 1/16 inches by 1 5/8 inches. The card is complete as issued & has not been tampered with in any way. The card has the printer's marking on the front bottom border "Lith. Of Heppenheimer & Mauer, 22 & 24 N. Wm. St. N.Y." Any card in this early series is extremely difficult to locate in the pleasing condition that this card is in. One reason is that the cards from this series are printed on thin, fragile, & easily bent paper stock whereas most of the other N-series cards which are printed on very heavy cardboard-like paper stock. Also, the cards from this series are fairly large compared with many of the other standard N-series cards. Both of these factors contribute to the difficulty in locating any of the cards in this series in high grade condition. The card offered here is one example from a group of high grade N-342 series cards which we are currently offering on eBay. In over 20 years of buying & selling tobacco cards this is the finest group of cards from the N-342 series that we have ever seen offered for sale. There is a subtle wrinkle from left to right by the arms that does not break the surface. This is very hard to see unless the card is enlarged or held in an angle under strong light.
