Description: I would like to present a pair of 1880 Audemair Paris Field Binoculars and case…Everything In Working Order. I don’t know everything about binoculars, but the research I have done on this piece, paired with other items I acquired from this estate that include an item from 1909 (please see last 2 pictures for some of the items) leads me to believe that these binoculars were used in the field in WW1. Everything is functional on the binoculars; the lenses are not chipped, the focus works and I was able to use the binoculars to look through and adjust as needed. I believe the binoculars to be brass because of the heavy patina. The case latch is still in working order, although it has seen quite a bit of life. I did not attempt to clean any part of the piece simply because that should be left to the owner of it’s next home. Thank you for your consideration.
