Other: Less common view of the Mother Grundy face shaped rock along the Union Pacific Rail Road by Colorado photographers Alexander Martin with his Rocky Mountain Views series. Alexander Martin (1841-1929) born in Scotland, was active in Boulder and Denver, Colorado from 1873 until 1929. He also was active in Central City and Georgetown as well. A fairly prolific photographer, he is known to go to some of the more remote locations of the region as well as the popular sites. An interesting side note, late in his career Martin was engaged in “Spirit Photography” with a rather lengthy account of his activity noted in the publication Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research, Volume X - No. 2, February 1916.
