This original 1881 publication has been rebound in a sturdy, plain cloth library binding. It is an ex-library volume from the Hudson, Wisconsin Public Library, and while it shows some signs of wear for its age, it remains in good shape overall. The binding displays light rubbing and soiling, with some tape residue and a library catalog number written on the spine. There is also a library stamp on the edge. Inside, this volume is well-maintained and all page groupings are firmly attached to the binding. There are visible Hudson library stamps on the endpapers. The text block itself is in good condition, with only light toning typical of age, as well as some scattered soiling and edge tearing. There are some pencil library numbers on page 181, and pages 239/240 have become detached from the binding, with page 241 showing some repairs with scotch tape. However, the volume is otherwise free from rips, tears, writing, and markings, making it a valuable treasure for collectors and history enthusiasts.
