It is from a special atlas issued for Bankers and Attorneys, entitled Directory of Bankers and Attorneys for the Commercial Agency of Tappan, McKillop & Co., published in Chicago by Tappan, McKillop, 1886-7. It is an early George Cram map with the classic border, which are similar to other maps that he published during this period with red and blue ceragraphic color, although the atlas must have been a short run since it was primarily put together for use by the Tappin, McKillop Commercial Agency as a directory of attorneys and bankers, "for the Protection of Trade and Collection of Debts" as stated on the title page. A facsimile copy of the title page is included for authentication. Size: The image area measures approximately 9 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches on a page measuring 10 1/4 by 14" (26x35cm). Condition: The map is in Very Good condition with a centerfold as issued and typical tonal ageing, blank on the reverse. The centerfold has been reinforced on reverse, otherwise it is very clean and would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
