Description: This is an antique litho colour postal card of Chicago, Illinois, USA with an undivided back. It shows 4 beautiful views of (clockwise): 1. Christopher Columbus (1451-1506) 2. The Machinery Building 3. The American Eagle holding the US Flag 4. The Administration Building on the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. This World's Fair was held in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus arrival in the New World in 1492. No publishing info on the card, but shown in J.R. Burdick, Pioneer postcards book as one of the earliest American postcards. This postcard was sent during the Exposition to Germany in 1893. So it is more than one HUNDRED and 30 years OLD. The blue and white 1 cents US stamp is still attached on its back. However a slight crease on top right corner it does not affect the pictures (see scan) and it is still a great collectable.
