Original colour woodblock. Series title and commentary in upper quadrant. Kiyochika's signature and seal in lower left corner. Published and printed in Tokyo by Matsuki Heikichi 松木平吉. 30th December Meiji 28 [1895]. Size: approx. 34.5cm x 23.5cm.Very Good condition. Light creasing / edge wear to paper. Under the (loosely translated) title 'A story of great achievement', Kiyochika's cartoon satirises the Chinese. The accompanying text by 'Koppi Dojin' is full of rather complex puns.
