Chicago Legal News Co. in the name of James W. Birks. Has large Wm. S. Duncan Cook Co. Ills. Raised seal! 1900 State of Illinois • Logan County • Town Collectors Office Tax Receipt? It also mentions the 80 acres related to the deed in the above details. Along with the 80 acres it mentions 3 other 40 acre lots. And a tax bill of $77 dollars for the taxes owed on that property for that year. Feb 26, 1915 Real Estate First Mortgage $6000 Promissory Note or Receipt? Sangmon Loan and Trust Company. Interest payable. 1896 Lincoln Illinois. $3500.00 • 5 year promise to pay • along with James W. Birks. I also found the name Jacob Schwabacker I believe. This name also appears on most of the documents also but this person appears to be either a lawyer or the city official who handled this guys affairs throughout the years it spans. Im positive there’s more to this story and tbh if I had the time I’d take it on, but I’m selling this super cool and very interesting story to someone who will hopefully find the answers they’re looking for.
