This beautiful case feautres SCARCE GOL CENTER COLOR and measures approx. 2 5/8" x 3" (outer measurements). The interior opening accommodates one 1/9 Plate size Image. The molded design on the front and rear of the Case are identical and features beautiful GEOMETRIC design. The Case contains a single 1/9 plate Ambrotype featuring a handsome young man with tinted cheeks. This rare and original, 1850's Case is in very good condition. The molded images on both sides are crisp and sharp with light wear. The surfaces retain their original surface finish with some dust present; Case could use a detailed cleaning.
