It was manufactured by The Chloride of Silver Dry Cell Battery Company and sold through the surgical/medical instrument supplier Charles Lentz & Sons of Philadelphia (est. 1866). Device consists of two Chloride of Silver dry batteries and an induction coil housed in a nicely made wooden box. Most recent patent date listed on label is 1901. Devices like this commonly used at that time to administer therapeutic electrical shocks to a patient. Device measures approximately 10 X 5 X 2.5 inches.
