Best known for his series of children’s books, Ransome also wrote about Russia before, during, and after the 1917 revolutions. His knowledge of the country and his relationship with individuals within Russia during this time allowed him to provide information to the Secret Intelligence Service in the MI6. Written at the age of only 22, Bohemia in London is considered to be the first major work of Ransome’s long career. This US edition, published two short months after the UK edition, saw a “slightly bawdy” section being omitted. COLT1907ADFX JR1257
