One side of pitcher has a large sailing ship with the caption THE NIGER - THE LAST OF THE FAMOUS FULL RIGGED SHIPS FORMERLY ENGAGED IN WHALING..The other side has whaling scene with sailors in a boat harpooning a whale; SPERM WHALING; THE CAPTURE....The front of pitcher has a huge anchor. Above that below the spout is a circular view of the New Bedford harbor with ships and has Latin words LUGEN DIFFUNDO CIVITATIS REGIMINE DONATA A.D.1847 etc...Coral & shellfish around the base border and around the outer rim....The handle is even decorated with rope & sailors knot!.....The inside rim has a panoramic view of New Bedford harbor with the spout having the caption THE WHALING CITY SOUVENIR OF NEW BEDFORD MASS ....The bottom has real nice maker's mark BUFFALO POTTERY 1907 UNDERGLAZE WARRANTED with picture of a Buffalo and Eagle......The pitcher is 6 1/4"tall....Sparkling attic mint condition with no hairlines, nicks, repairs, stains or damage of any kind.
