Description: The Galloway # 5 1911 Barrel Alignment Tool (Block). These are made out of 6061 aluminum bars. They will accommodate both regular and undersized barrel legs for the 1911 pistol. The side groves will allow you to have a stable platform when fitting your barrel to the slide. This tool is cut to fit most 1911 slides as there are so many manufactures it may require fitting using a safe sided file. Using the so-called poke hole to work the barrel and take measurements of the amount of lockup between your barrel lugs and the slide locking lugs. If you have a milling machine this block can be used to secure the barrel in your vice, or you can use a regular vice and a file to fit the barrel hood. See picture. The 1911 pistol get most of its accuracy form how well the barrel is mated (married) to the slide this tool will help you to achieve a good fit and lockup.
