ITEM DETAILS Title: Two on a Tour in South America, Illustrated with Photographs by the AuthorAuthor: Anna Wentworth Sears Publisher: D. Appleton and Company, New YorkPublication Date: 1913Edition: 1st Edition Condition: Good ITEM DESCRIPTION Today we are pleased to offer this nicely preserved volume on South America by Anna Wentworth Sears! A great find from a local New England estate! This scarce antique first edition is over 111 years old! 1st Edition. Ex-library. In great condition overall! Original publisher decorative cloth binding shows some wear, including a library catalog sticker pasted to the spine, some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, toning to the spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and minor fraying to the spine extremes, and some rubbing and soiling to the page edges, including the gilt top edge. Binding is also slightly cocked. Otherwise this is an attractive, well-preserved antique volume! The title lettering to the spine can still be read from the shelf despite toning, and the gilt title lettering to the front board shines brightly! Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings remain firmly attached to the binding. This is an ex-library volume with bookplates and library markings visible to the front and rear endpapers and fly pages, as well as the tile page and copyright page. Otherwise this volume is clean and free from signatures and inscriptions. The text block of this volume is very clean throughout. There is typical age-related toning to the pages and some light soiling throughout, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings. Perfectly readable throughout! Nicely illustrated with full page plates. Make sure to see the additional photos in the description below for a thorough look through this antique book! 312 pages.
