Description: Antique scroll in box. Marked made in China so made for either British or American market and export. But could be a label put on at a store. From researching with someone from China it says right on the painting 1918 or 60 years before 1858 as that is what the symbols represent. The box looks like early 1900’s. Height 33 1/2 inches by 16 1/2 inches actual painting dimensions Beautiful picture of ocean, waves, sky, clouds, people, houses, etc. see pictures. At one point it looks like the scroll got wet but very little if any damage to painting. All the damage is to the left of paint ting. See picture. Maybe around the moon and clouds there maybe damage but really hard to see. . Maybe a little darker. But overall for its age in great condition. I would cut the painting out and frame . The colors and subject are beautiful. My wife and I bought this in the Philadelphia area because we thought it was pretty at either an estate sale or antique store. We moved from the Philadelphia area over 30 years ago and we thought some day we would open a store. Well now retired I am selling on eBay . It will take me years to put everything up. This scroll has sat in a drawer ever since we bought it.
