Description: Modern terms like "Selfies" and "Photo-Bombs" actually existed long ago, they just were not cool or trendy. People have been standing in front of mirrors to paint self portraits or crashing other peoples photographs long before smart phones, and here Babe Ruth is evidence of such an event. As Roger Peckinpaugh from the Yankees takes some swings for the photographer, a young first-year Yankee named George Herman "Babe" Ruth wanders into the background with bat in hand. Whether this was unintentional, or on purpose we will never know but what we have is the first evidence of a Baseball "Celebrity Photo Bomb" that we know of! An interesting image that captures a pivotal year in baseball history and the greatest player to ever grace the diamond in an awkward moment late in the season. While this example is not dated, we have sold one other example of this photo from NEA and that one was dated September 30, 1920. The photo is in exceptional shape overall and is one of only a couple known specimens of this image in the hobby. For the collector who wants a special image of Babe Ruth that is sure to be a fund conversation starter.Size: 6.5x9.75Inv # 68895
