ABOUT THE ARTIST Charles PILLET (1869-1960). French medallist, he studied under CHAPU and CHAPLAIN. Studied at the cole des Arts dcoratifs from 1885 then in 1886 at the cole Nationale Suprieure des Beaux-Arts. Won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome de gravure en mdailles in 1890. Won the Silver Medal at 1900 Exposition Universelle. Created the medal of general Portifirio Diaz president of Mexico.
