Circa 1920s, beautiful quality Antique German made copy of a Joseph Guarnerius Cremona 4/4 violin In excellent condition, has been cleaned and setup ready to play and there are no cracks or structural issues. It has a solid carved spruce top which is clean and free of cracks or repairs The back is carved solid bookmatched 2 piece German fiddleback maple Sides and neck are German fiddleback maple The fingerboard is ebony and has been cleaned and conditioned The tailpiece and tuners are in excellent shape and the violin stays in tune well and includes the chin rest which is in perfect condition The bow is in excellent condition but may need a rehair The case is a USA made Bulls Head brand, and initials on the label indicate it was made during the Harptone era of the late 1920s and is in great condition, only missing the center latch and includes the original key, the latches are engraved “Worcester T & S” from Rochdale, MASS, USA, the company supplied latches to most instrument case and luggage makers The violin had been repaired in 1972, there is a hand written note inside the body “REPAIRED OCT 1972 LAUREL PETERSEN - COKATO, MINN” The finish is in excellent shape and has a lovely patina, and shows some minor play wear, the violin has a lovely feel and pleasant rich tone
