Description: PRIVATELY PRINTED, LIMITED TO 1500 COPIES. The copies were numbered, and while this one says "1", I don't quite believe it is number 1 of 1500. This is because the "1" looks like from a lead pencil not printed, and also because a few others I saw online said the number was not in their copy. I'm guessing the number also wasn't in this one and the previous owner put his own number in it. The boards show heavy corner wear, moderate edge wear, fading of color around the light blue boards. No bookplate or previous owner marks, a bit of weakness in the binding of the first few leaves, otherwise solidly bound, 252 pages with deckled fore edges, a number of B&W full page illustrations (no listing of illustrations and I didn't count them all). A nice if not particularly special Private Printing of this classic. B1
