Author's presentation copy, with an inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'To Lionel F. Goldsmith, one of my muse's foster fathers, M. M. T. Hibbart-Gilson, 1934'. A limited edition work, with 115 numbered copies, 100 of which were for sale, and 15 for presentation. This copy is numbered 55. Signed twice by the author, once in the presentation inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, and once to the edition page. 'Giant and Pygmy' is a poem written in dedication to Thomas hardy, intended to illustrate the effectiveness of a review in verse. Written by Hibbart Gilson. Gilson also wrote 'Songs to My Sunshine', 'The Hidden Splendour', 'In and Out of Heaven', 'Beyond a Dream's Domain', 'An Idyll of the Painted Veil',and more. CONDITION In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
