Description: For sale is a vintage 1929 US Navy photograph of the V4 Argonaut (SM-1) submarine taken from atop the Brooklyn Bridge while it headed down the east river in New York City with a dramatic view of the city skyline in the background. Vintage print with no markings (with the exception of a scribble on the backside), this measures about 9.5" by 8". There are a few creases visible in angled light as shown. Some light wear to edges and corners as shown. Some minor discoloration from age as shown. This comes from the collection from a relative who worked on submarines in the Portsmouth Navy Yard where this ship originated; at the time of listing there are a number of Navy postal cache covers available as well (including one of the double launch that included the Argonaut 475 that commemorated the sinking of the V4). Please let me know if you are interested in a combined purchase as it would not increase the initial shipping price.
