Description: This is a custom-bound copy of "The Art of Appreciating Wine" by Geoffrey M. Tait with provenance. This copy comes from the library of Sir Clive Coates of Helperby (1871-1979), with his signature - "Clive Coates of Helperby" - on the front end paper. 1931 1st edition (stated); Harper & Co.; London. The original softcover booklet has been custom-bound into hardcovers with "CC" (presumably the initials for "Clive Coates") gilt stamped on the front cover, and a "CC" label affixed to the front pastedown. Coates was Captain of the 15th/19th Hussars in World War I, and attained the title of 2nd Baronet (below a Baron, but above a Knight) in 1921. The booklet has 31 numbered pages and contains illustrations. The book is smaller in size - it measures 6 1/4" tall x 5" wide.
